N'ORI RESA

Crystal | Balmung

If my RP tag is on, I'm up for roleplaying! Also, feel free to /Tell if you want to make sure or if you'd like to ask when I'll be available to RP next. Follow the links above to learn more about N'ori.I have Mare and am happy to pair with folks! Hit me up with a /Tell about it. I recommend doing this to see N'ori as she actually is.Currently, N'ori is disguised as one of the dozens of Miqo'te dancers in Ul'dah. For reasons you may or may not learn through roleplay, just keep in mind that she's playing a role herself...Also, meet my other characters: Ranaeus Westknight, Selena Varon

  1. If my tag is on, you're free to walk up and start or join a scene with me. Send me a /Tell if it's not and we can plan a time.

  2. Please do not interact if you're not 18+.

  3. I expect a healthy IC/OOC boundary to be maintained (though this doesn't mean that we can't become good friends OOC). I will show you this courtesy, and hope you can show the same to me.

  4. While I am open to most roleplay concepts, ideas, and storylines, I would appreciate it if you send me a /Tell about your ideas first to check — especially with explicitly dark subject matter.

Some quick things you should know! I am a 26-year-old that works as a games journalist, so I'm primarily only free during evening hours (my time zone is Mountain Standard Time).I've done a decent amount of roleplay before, though I've only been playing FFXIV for a year and a half or so. That said, I've gained a lot of experience in that time, and feel that I have a strong understanding of the game's world and its lore.

history

On a new path.

shadow huntress. Like many Seekers of the Sun Miqo'te, N’ori was born to a clan of the Sagolii Desert — in this case, the N tribe. Though most Seekers make for adept hunters and skilled bowmen, it was clear even at a young age that N’ori was particularly exceptional — talent that would see her status within the tribe rise rapidly. Before long, she became the clan's best huntress, and was always present to defend her people in times of armed conflicts with hostile groups such as the Amalj'aa or troops of bandits prowling the sands. But close as she was to her fellow Miqo'te, N’ori could not help but harbor a disdain for another of her "duties" — the expectation that she would be wed to the N tribe's nunh and join the breeding male's harem. Having met and spoken to all manner of travelers and learned of the ways life was lived elsewhere in the realm, she developed a strong desire to forge her own path and placed great value on personal freedom and equal opportunity. These feelings only grew as the huntress did, until they came to a head when the nunh of her tribe expressed his desire to take her as his. Her refusal drew anger and judgement from the man as well as the tribe's leader, which then trickled down to the rest of the flock as word spread.

As this wedge was driven between her and her people, the huntress was overcome with frustration and resentment — emotions that acted as a catalyst for her affinity with the Dark, which then furthered N’ori’s feelings of alienation from her Azeyma-worshipping kin. After much consideration, she ultimately made a difficult, pivotal, and necessary choice: to shroud herself in her aether and melt into the shadows, leaving her tribe under cover of night and Darkness. She went on to travel across the realm for several years, eking out a living as a nomadic hunter, briefly serving as a ranger and scout in the Eorzean Alliance, and dropping the tribal epithet from her moniker to take the name Ori. At first hopeful about where her chosen path may lead, her outlook soured as she frequently witnessed and experienced corruption and exploitation in Ul’dah, the deep-rooted racism of Gridania, and discrimination from the people of Ishgard. Even Limsa Lominsa — the city where Ori often felt most comfortable — was known for its tendency to look the other way when brigands and outlaws struck. Now a largely bitter and pessimistic woman unsure of where she wants to go and what she wants to do, Ori has fallen back on what she knows. Living in seclusion in and between Thanalan and The Black Shroud, she makes her gil hunting beasts and bounties both — and spends it quietly drinking in the evenings alone.

hooks

withdrawn. Ori almost never speaks to someone unless she’s approached, and is generally found alone at one of her camps or in taverns. It's not uncommon to find her cleaning her bow or fletching arrows, completely absorbed in her work.disagreeable. Bitter and morose as she is, many will find Ori to be poor company. She’s often rather abrasive to strangers who speak to her, especially if they’re excessively inquisitive or overly forward. That isn’t to say, however, that a rapport with her cannot be built in time.tactless. Ori’s hot-headed temperament and somewhat impulsive nature generally makes her easy to goad into confrontations, and she also tends to be insulting and combative towards people who intentionally annoy her or have prejudiced views.

seeker. Ori can potentially have unique interactions with other Seekers of the Sun and Keepers of the Moon Miqo’te about their tribes and lifestyles. She is also empathetic towards Seekers who have broken away from or pushed back against tribal norms and expectations as she has.huntress. Those looking to try and befriend Ori might ask her about her work as a hunter. Given that most people take little interest, she enjoys discussing it — even if that fact isn’t apparent at first. She often fletches arrows or performs maintenance on her bow while sitting with a drink in a tavern, giving interested parties an opportunity to try and “break the ice.”contract work. Ori’s skills make her an excellent mercenary, and she’s available to work with if you’re looking for a helping hand with RP beast and bounty hunts. She might also approach others about this if she overhears hunts being discussed.
